This was his first big contest and he was in good company in D Grade with pupils of Lewis Turrell M.B.E, Merv Appleton and Bain McGregor. I look forward to seeing future results and progress from Michael.

The weekend was a great success with the band being in a good position wih the new year approaching, We received praises on our change from the McCallum chanter to the sinclair which was the response we were looking for.

I woiuld like to take this oppurtunity to thank Aaron O'Neill and Adam Wishart who made the trip from Australia to play with us. Aaron also had success on the solo board on saturday morning gaining a second and 2 thirds in the B grade. See this link for full results.

Congragulations to Auckland and Districts Pipe Band who qualified for the grade 1 world finals and managed to gain 14th in the world. They got second in the morning qualifier in a pool of some very good bands which put them through to the afternoon final.
